Every year about this time, I start feeling sad because I can not attend the JDRF walk in AZ. I think I start feeling bad early so that by the time the walk is here, I am over it. Then, I can just get excited and celebrate it's happening.
Each year, I have a pity party because I can't walk in Addy's behalf with my family. Boo-Hoo! Then, the pity party rolls into a huge BOO-HOO, because of the realization of how far away Wendy is. WAH!!!!!!
Usually, this Wah-Wah lasts for about 7-10 days. Although, this year it is different. For so many years, I have had to say, well in four years I can go, then it was three years. Now, I can say, next year I will be able to walk! So, even though I am going though my annual Boo-Hoo, I am excited because this most likely will be my last one.
It seems the last few weeks have created such change in our little family in the East. Bob selling his business, Little Kitty going to heaven, A new grandchild who will hold the name Mark as a second name. A long awaited reunion with my son Todd and his family, the hopeful reunion with my son Steven which did not take place, the slow downhill fall of my Mother, the retirement announcement of my Program Manager who has become my friend, the new gluten free diet, and Maya's little not quite right gait.
I never feel that I am in a rut. Familiarly has always worked for me. I have always been able to handle boredom. Who has time for it? I have always been able to handle the feeling of tiredness. Who sleeps enough anyway? I like driving my '93 S10. It's paid for. But right now, I have an uneasy feeling in my gut. I can't identify exactly what is creating this feeling. This is not a new feeling. I have had it before.
For whatever reason I am feeling the way that I am, I want to praise God for the ability to feel. So many people my age have become hardened with life. Often I hear, "just too much has happened to me, I just don't want to put myself out there." Well, the way I look at things, too much is supposed to happen to everyone in life. If not, what is life for?
One thing for sure, God has kept me on my toes by placing me in the position of constantly learning new things, forcing me to develop new ideas, making new adjustments and going forward in difficulty. Yes, I am never bored! Ruts...I have never been in one long enough to learn how to climb out of one. However, uneasy feelings I dislike. I want this one to just leave. With this feeling, I am not interested in having to look back and say, AH, so that is what it was! I just want this uneasy feeling to go away. Yet, at the same time I am thanking Jesus for the ability to feel the slightest change, now or for what is to come. Strange..huh?
