To All of You......

This is Wendy's last picture taken in my house Feb.27, 2007. She was all packed and ready to take Addy and Kaelyn to the airport to meet Jason in Arizona. She had her Maya sling, suitcases, breast pump, car seats, and two babies. Golly Wendy, I miss you!

To all of the kind people who support Wendy, Jason and their family, I send my love. When Wendy left Maryland, I felt my heart sink. At the time that Wendy left MD, she and I had never been separated by very many miles. Arizona seemed like it was on the other side of the world. Jason and Wendy were leaving for a new and better life in AZ. But, to me, the circumstances of the move seemed insurmountable. Their house had to be sold. They had to pack everything. Wendy had a brand new baby and Addy and been diagnosed with diabetes less than 7 months previously. How in the world were they ever going to be able to manage this? I just could not comprehend the magnitude and how it was ever going to come together. As a Mom, I was very concerned.

Wendy left on a plane with Addy and Kaelyn. I remember thinking, what if Addy has a real problem during the flight? Addy left sick with a virus. Who is going to help Wendy? Who is going to help Wendy get settled in their little cramped apartment while they wait for their new home to be finished? Well, everything worked out. I remember the very first Walk to Cure Diabetes in Tempe in 2006. Only Wendy, Jason, Kaelyn and Addy walked. But, on that day, they started to meet friends. They started to develope a great diabetes support group. I started to feel comfort that my daughter was going to be OK.

Wendy and Jason are on a long journey with three daughters, diabetes and celiac. They have no Gma around to help pick of the pieces for some of the left over cracks. Instead, they have all of you. Each of you have been brilliant in your support and kindness. I want to thank each of you from the very bottom of my heart. I have only met a few of the supportive people who offer help to my little far away family. But, one thing for sure, I do love all of you. :)
